But God…

A valley experience
The duration of time when the sun no longer rises
An eternal sunset
Thoughts of mind, originating from unthinkable occurrences yielding internal turmoil
Cornered by endless darkness
Tear saturated sadness
Becoming an acquaintance of the ground-level
But wait, that’s no place for the chosen generation of peculiar royalty
We’re mountaintop dwellers
Assuming our rightful position
After all, it looks better on us
Our name was victory before the ink touched the certificate of birth
So it’s due time for sunrise
I’m coming to you live and in full effect
Straight Jesus, No chaser
Reminding you of a man, 1st earth now heaven
Some call him papa
Some call him Jah
It’s whatever yo, he’s my star so
I call him GOD
By no means do I belittle strife
Life happens
but our Savior lives
Standing flat footed
By the power granted to me in authority
I reach down to pull you UP from weakness to his perfected strength
In him you come to, go through and come OUT
The key is to give him your heart
For he is in fact love
Don’t believe me? Let me help you out
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and whomsoever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life
9 words in and the biggest sacrifice the world will ever know transpired
To a self absorbed, cruel, ungrateful, denying world
What meant the most to him, he sent a gift
Special delivery
It is the sweetest name, I know
Something happens when you call him
Jehovah Rapha
You are not slack concerning your promises
Every lash you took on the cross
Sickness, ailments, hate, combat, unbelief amongst many others were conquered
Your blood is life
For I am persuaded beyond doubt
That neither death nor life,
Nor angels nor principalities
Nor things impending and threatening
Nor things to come
Nor powers nor height nor depth
Nor anything else in all creation
Will be able to separate us from the love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
Heart tied to the source
You’re an overcomer
So when the enemy comes to do his bidding
Put him to shame
Speak to yourself
Declare into your atmosphere
Flavor your situation with the word
It’s guaranteed satisfaction
Taste and see that the Lord is good
And his mercy endures forever
Just to ponder on his mercy lasting to the end of our time?
The evidence of divine favor and compassion
A blessing
At my lowest, unable to stand
Weight of this world riding as an uninvited passenger
Stumbling, dragging, broken
I stretch my hands to thee, come rescue me
I need you right away
Just to touch the hem of his garment
How bad do you want it?
I’m in the fight for my life and with him I win
I’m in the fight for my life and with him I win
God has a purpose for your pain,
Reason for your struggle
A reward for your faithfulness
Faith is blind
Its requirement is complete and total trust
You gotta go all in
Like your life depends on it
And it does
He’ll take it from there
Feed your faith and starve the very essence of doubt
Leaving its attempts to hinder and stagnate at bay
Faith- let it stand tall, strong and true and fear will not have any choice but to flee
Down does not mean out
Let’s shift the focus
You’re still here aren’t you?
We gotta stop giving the pain the attention our Progress has the rights to
Being able to say you’re going THROUGH something
Highlights the very important fact
That problems, issues, setbacks, and disappointments
Did not succeed in the pursuit to destroy, consume and take you out
God implanted you with the ‘make it’ gene
So take a second look
In the midst of an appointed and apparent affliction
Is an appointed turn around
I have told you these things
So that in me you may have (Perfect) peace and confidence
In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration
But be of good cheer
(Take courage, be confident, certain, undaunted
For I have overcome the world
The right to peace is yours
Peace in CHAOS — it’s a believer thing
Keep in mind, IT
Whatever your IT is, ain’t over until God, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Shalom, Jehovah Tsid-Kenu, Jehovah Shammah, Jehovah Sabaoth, Jehovah Raah, says it’s over
You haven’t seen your BEST days yet, the BEST is yet to come
Strap back on your gloves of faith and trust
And get back in the ring SWINGIN
And if ya don’t know, now ya know…
I’m out.

Encouragement for the Day

No one’s life is ever perfect. We never truly get all the things want out of it and sometimes not even the things we need. Sometimes we’re short on bill money, and sometimes we have to cut back. The kids may not be able to get the latest trends right now and you may not be able to get your hair done as often as you’d like. The pantry may only contain rice and beans and maybe you’ve had to downsize more than you initially planned. Everything may be going left when you want to go right but that’s okay. No matter what happens, we should always put or trust in Him and praise in or through whatever we’re facing. Because truth be told, with God in control, we will essentially always have what we need to survive. The Lord is worthy to be praised in every aspect of our lives. The hills and valleys, the peaks and plummets and even the backwards and sideways. So, rejoice in Him today 🙂

Though the cherry tress don’t blossom and the strawberries don’t ripen, though the apples are worm-eaten and the wheat felds stunted, though the sheep pens are sheepless and the cattle barns empty, I’m singing joyful praise to God. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. Counting on God’s rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I’m king of the mountain!

Production Over Promise

During my time of reflection, I was just thinking why church/ministries feel that the Word of God needs a production in the pulpit to convey His Word. The Word tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that the “Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”. So if the Word of God is already alive and working on its own, why would man have to pump it up with fancy clothes, extravagant church service regimes and secular additives? The word of God doesn’t need pyrotechnics, smoke and elaborate light shows to convey it’s power to the people on a daily basis. The Word is the light, all by itself, just the way God spoke it.

If we did indeed need all this in order to preach the gospel, how did Christ accomplish the task of speaking to thousands without the use of a microphone and a stage play featuring the twelve disciples? There’s nothing wrong with having special programs and somewhat adjusting to what works for your audience/members at times but all we really need in order to deliver God’s Word is to “seek the Kingdom of God, above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” -Matthew 6:33.

Just Keep Pushing!

Never get tired of pursuing what God has placed on your life! The awesome thing about it, God knows your time of arrival to your ordained destiny. Don’t grow weary you shall reap if you faint not. It takes a tremendous amount of faith to follow the invisible, but that is exactly what God requires of every believer! We are constantly tested in our day to day activities the key is never give up!  God will always provide what you need during the process or path to your purpose. I encourage you on today to enjoy the journey on your way to your purpose being fulfilled; remember that is called LIFE……your are given that everyday!

This Song Speaks to me!

The “Appeal” by (friend in my head) Kirk Franklin is my favorite song of all time. Every time I listen and meditate on it, I become overwhelmed by the love the Father has for us even when we stray away. It helps to encourage me to stay in the race and know that in the end it will all be worth it to hear Him say, “Job well done”. I hope it does the same for you 🙂

“The Appeal”-Kirk Franklin

Lord I stand in your presence wanting you and need you and
I am here and I surrender all of me so I can see
Your will is where I desire to be take all of me oh
I give it to you Lord it’s for you
Just take my hand and I’ll follow you for all that I have and all that I do it’s for you
You are my song it’s your love that keeps me strong and you are the light in the darkness of my night
I’m lost without you broken without you oh how I need you
Oh how I need you
You make life worth living your grace always keep giving
I’m lost without you broken without you oh how I need you oh how I need you
Lord Have mercy
Have mercy
We need your healing please give us healing
Lord have mercy have mercy
Lord have mercy have mercy
Lord I come broken in this place weak and poor for all I have is yours all yours
This life these things they can’t compare to you no wealth no fame can separate that one my heart adores
Yet we take our eyes off you we’re blind in reaching for the truth and now this whole world cries because it realizes
There is none quite like you the earth the stars the universe repeat these words so true
Life begins and life will end with you
Life begins and life will end with you
When I die what will they say about me will the work that I’ve done be enough to help someone when I die WILL I draw men’s hearts to you at the setting of the sun wanna hear you say well done when I die
Well done well done

This Really Grinds My Gears…

Isn’t it it amazing how we take people for granted sometimes? It really grinds my gears to know that some individuals  do so much for other people that they often believe that will never change. But what if it did? What if one day you woke up and that friend you always call in times of trouble stop answering your phone calls? What if that loved one stopped caring as much as they do and what if that mentor/role model said “you’re not worth the trouble” and stopped investing in you?

I think it’s important to always remember that people are not obligated to do things for us no matter who we are.Your husband doesn’t have to bring you flowers home every week. Your co-worker doesn’t have to grab you a muffin along with their coffee in the morning. Your boss doesn’t have to give his employees gifts for the holidays and people who were placed in your life to guide and help you along the way could choose to spend their time with someone who appreciates what they have to offer. If their heart is in the right place, they’re doing these things because they truly want to see you succeed and be happy. Not so you can drain them by constantly taking and never giving back in return.

It’s a dog eat dog world out there and a lot of people treat it as such. Let’s try not to take advantage of the ones that oppose this idea.
